Yes, those are the recommended gifts for traditional and modern 10 Year Anniversary gifts. I’m trying to think of some gifts made out of either of those. Hmmm. I’m not coming up with anything good. Are you? Well, I don’t know where the last 10 years went, but today Matt and I celebrate our 10 Year Wedding Anniversary.
Ten years ago today we would have been getting ready for our wedding in Edmond. It was a small, beautiful wedding with all our closest friends and family. The next morning we left for our Honeymoon in England and France. This was our first big trip together. We had a great time exploring the English Countryside with some long-time family friends and jetting around Paris on The Metro. I’ll always remember some advice given to us on that trip. Matt and I were at a dinner cruise on the Seine River and we were seated next to this nice elderly English couple who came to Paris every year for their anniversary. Matt asked very seriously, “What’s your advice for a long lasting marriage?” The English gentleman responded in a classic gruff, English accent, “Keep arguing!”
I know we’ve done some arguing. But most importantly I know that we have had fun. And, I remember the laughter. The time spent on trips or just at home being together. Reaghan being born and all the other things that have changed our lives. Here’s a look back over the last 10 years:
Our Wedding, March 18, 2000
Wedding Reception, 2000
On our Honeymoon, Stonehenge, 2000
The Louvre, Paris, 2002
Costa del Sol, Mediterranean, Spain, 2002
Matt & Me just after Reaghan was born, 2003.
Our 4th Anniversary Date, 2004.
Carving Pumpkins, 2005.
Tulum, Mexico, 2006
Reaghan's Dance Recital, 2007
Just a night out, 2008.
Another Night Out, Spring 2009
Christmas, 2009
As we embark on the next decade of our lives together, I wonder where the next 10 years will take us. I can’t wait to find out.

Congratulations. 10 years is a great milestone.
For our 10 year anniversary, I found a place in upstate NY that refurbishes items from really old buildings. I bought a tin ceiling tile (from a 200 year old building) that had been made into a picture frame and put one of our wedding photos in it. It’s really cool.
The place is called Fragment Freaks, I think.

Congrats on your 10 year. When Brad and I had our 10 year in 2003, I bought a gift based on the anniversary gift list (Year 1 -10) and had a scavenger hunt around the neighborhood. Brad loved all the gifts, and I just enjoyed watching him hunt around for the items and read the next clue. It was alot of fun!
I loved seeing your pics of the last 10 years. What I enjoyed the most is watching how more beautiful you have become over the years.
Have a great final couple of days in Washington!
