It’s funny… since I have become interested in photography I find myself eyeing places that would be an “interesting backdrop” for pictures. There are a lot of places around with great texture that you wouldn’t think of making a pretty picture. This is one example of an interesting backdrop:
This place is actually an old gas station that’s out here in the country by our house. I’ve gone by it a million times and thought what a fun sign was hanging there. And, I love this doorway!
This is the picture above. A few weeks ago there were tons of beautiful wild flowers growing in the fields. Reaghan and I pulled over to a field off 150th & May to take this one:
People driving by probably thought I was nuts. I don’t care though…. whatever gets a pretty picture!
Here’s another fun screen shot using my GPS SD card! I still love that thing!!
Another area of photography i’d like to explore more is landscape and macro photography. Someday I would love to just take a trip… stopping where I wanted to take pictures of old barns and houses. I’m getting better about taking the time to get the shots I want. Especially on our trip last summer to Canada.
Here’s an example of the macro photography I did the other night after Reaghan’s photo shoot. I used my camera mounted on a tripod so I could shoot a lower shutter speed and a wireless remote to reduce camera shake. I’m sure the neighbors thought I was interesting laying on the grass in our front yard. They also see me with curlers in my hair, so I guess there’s nothing that would shock them after that sight.
